“A personal approach to

Dementia care”

Testimonials

Hayley,  NSW

I have had the unfortunate experience of watching my elderly father suffer the ramifications of diabetes, severe pain, numerous surgeries and, in later years, the sheer trauma of dementia. My lifeline along this tumultuous journey, has been a very special lady, who has also travelled this difficult road. Adelle Getz has been a shining light for my family and I. She has helped us navigate our way through a maze of confusion and uncertainty. She has taught us how to respond to my father in different situations; how to elicit and foster conversation with him, how to keep him engaged in an activity and how to pre-occupy him using whatever material we have available to us in his room at his Aged Care Facility – a box of gloves, a pile of socks. Adelle has a wealth of knowledge in this area and has always been eager and prepared to share all her ideas and strategies with me so as to make a marked difference in my father’s day to day living. Adelle’s deep respect for the elderly is evident in
her attentiveness to improve their quality of life at all levels. She has also been a helpful resource for me regarding equipment which might benefit my father, additional services available to us as a family and a wealth of information and knowledge. Her emotional
generosity to her work and to us as a family, has been hugely appreciated.

I attended a seminar at Gordon Library which was run by Adelle and Beth on the subject of Still Here, Dementia with Dignity.

I care for my elderly husband at home who lives with Alzheimer’s. Many facets were covered by Adelle and Beth from their own experiences…with empathy, laughter, insight and encouragement. For me, I came away feeling assured of the path I am walking with and for my husband
